words are hard to find to describe this sample-based vaporwave-influenced release by Portland artist TOUCANG. "Bonsai Jungle" teeters on the edge of insanity throughout its course, filled to the brim with gruesomely chopped sounds from days past and layered with a ghastly ethereal drumset. each song segues into the one following it but each manage to keep their own brand of uncertainty and fear, and yet encapsulate the listener into a strange myriad of beauty and nostalgia. sounds range from harsh noise to shoegaze at times, but the whole EP still feels very consistent.
